TVS-E launches TVS Proton in Kerala |
| |
|
| |
The world's quickest bill printer to target 50%
market share in transaction printing segment.
TVS Electronics, the largest computer peripheral
manufacturer in India, today announced the
launch of its break through transaction printer
'TVS Proton' in the Kerala market.
TVS Proton redefines printer speed by replacing
the traditional CPS (characters per second)
metric with BPM (Bills Per Minute) and promises
to set new technology standards. The world's
quickest bill printer generates 10 Bills Per
Minute in normal user conditions (5 item bill),
making it 20% faster than any other transaction
printer in the market. TVS Proton for the first
time ever, uses the revolutionary Inkbank
Technology (for which the patent is pending)
that reduces the variable cost of printing by a
whopping 50%. The unique new millennium styling
with built-in stand, built in roll paper feeder
and the 'Selicon' self-lubrication mechanism,
makes it the most innovative transaction printer
in the world.
Announcing the launch of the printer in Kochi,
Mr. K R Chandrasekaran, V. P. Marketing and
Business Development, said, "With the launch of
TVS Proton, retail bill printing will never be
the same again.. This world class product is
targeted at the Indian retail customer and the
launch of TVS Proton is a milestone for TVSE and
the industry".
Extensive research was undertaken to gain
in-depth understanding of the Indian retail
environment and customer needs for transaction
printing. Over 2 lakh man-hours across 15
months, and a financial outlay of Rs. 4 crores,
went into the research and development effort.
TVSE's young R&D team (average age 23 years)
involved in this development effort about 600
retailers across 12 cities in verticals such as
grocery, pharmacy, restaurants, footwear,
apparels, retail showrooms, wholesale
distribution and gifts & jewellery. In that
sense, the new TVS Proton was co-created by
customers themselves!
TVS Proton addresses, through a breakthrough
design, common problems that the Indian retailer
faces in transaction printers like dusty
environment, poor paper quality, unique paper
feeding requirements, inconsistent quality of
ribbons, and high cost of operations.
With the development of TVS Proton the company
has reiterated its commitment to understand
customer needs by developing a break through
product that addresses the business needs of
micro businesses.
Priced competitively, the printer will be
available at over 1500 Dealers across 300 towns. |
