TVS-E Champion Software Solutions Provider Summit 2003 |

MUMBAI, September 12, 2003 : Chennai based TVS
Electronics, largest computer peripheral
manufacturer in India organised the first ever
Software Solutions Provider (SSP) Summit in
Mumbai, on September 12th 2003. The SSP summit
aims to create a partnership between TVS-E and
SSP for tapping the growing opportunities and
penetration in the SME segment.
This summit would enable TVS-E to work with the
SSP's customers and vice versa through the
strong TVS-E channel of about 1500 channel
partners. Post the conference TVS-E would be
looking at setting up 'Mumbai Solutions Advisory
Council' to evolve a program for collaboration.
The Summit will also create an opportunity for
dialogue between small application software
vendors and TVS-E.
According to Mr. Srini Nageshwar, Director TVS
Electronics Limited, "India is a big opportunity
for SME segment, Companies like TVS-E partnering
with SSP will enable deeper penetration in the
segment."
According to Mr. S. Narendran, GM, Marketing,
TVS Electronics Limited, "The idea of partnering
with SSPs is to capture the growing SME with
deeper penetration. Introducing a robust
platform for custom solutions targeted at
various verticals would do this. In the process
also ensuring that they have the requisite
information/tools to customize solutions with
the platform for their customers. It is
strategically important to partner with SSPs."
There is a retailing opportunity of 2 Million
numbers with 10% growth and 15% automating each
year across the country.
Through the summit the company is targeting all
the SME segments, which includes pharmacies,
garments, retail super markets, transport,
courier & cargo, chain stores, showrooms,
jewellery etc. TVS-E already has a strong
presence in this space though its various
offerings. The recent launch TVS Proton 'The
world's Quickest bill Printer', is a
specifically aimed at retail/SME segment. Also
in the offing is national rollout of TVS-E's
(POS) Retail Automation System.TVS-E's partners
are also optimistic about this initiative and
feel that this move would provide new avenues
for SSP's. The company feels that the new
initiative will help in creating a new channel
while providing custom solution on a Robust
Platform.
TVS-E's Offerings include Dot Matrix Printers,
Thermal Printers, Supplies, UPS, Keyboards and
POS (Point Of Sale) Retail Automation machine. |
