Aiptek launches Digital Camera in India |

To capitalize on TVS-E's strong network to
Market & Support the brand in India
TVS Electronics Limited, India's leading
computer peripherals manufacturer has signed an
agreement with Taiwan based AIPTEK International
Inc. to launch the AIPTEK brand of Digital
cameras in India. Under the agreement, the
cameras manufactured by AIPTEK, would be
distributed, marketed and serviced by TVS-E.
With this tie up, Aiptek expects to garner a
market share of 15% in the estimated Rs.140 Cr
digital camera market which is currently growing
at over 40%. The company intends to initially
launch four models of Digital camera cum
camcorders viz. Pencam VGA, Pocket Cam Smart,
Slimcam 3200 and Pocket DV 3500. The key
differentiator is that, all the models are
MULTIFUNCTIONAL i.e. functions as a Digicam, Web
cam & Camcorder and is affordable.
Commenting on this tie up, Mr.S.Narendran, GM,
Marketing, TVS-E, says, "The Digital camera
market in India is booming due to increasing
customer awareness and growing affluence. We
decided to take advantage of this dynamic market
situation by providing the 'Passage to India'
Services to AIPTEK through our large
distribution & service network. This association
will help TVS-E enter the Personal Digital
Appliances market."
According to Mr. Ben Lee, Vice President, Sales

Camera's as it has immense potential for growth.
TVS-E with its renowned distribution and service
network is the ideal partner for us to enter the
Indian Market. With this, we hope to leverage
Aiptek's competency in digital Imaging to
rapidly penetrate the Indian Market".
With a price range varying from Rs3000- Rs10000,
the Digital camera is targeted across multiple
segments of customers from students to
households. These cameras will target the
emerging internet-savvy younger generation.
TVS-E will provide field support across the
country and supplement their efforts through
their multi-lingual call center. |
