Chennai, April 20, 2006 : TVS Electronics has
announced that it has been ranked No.2 in the
Asia-Pacific Serial Dot Matrix (SDM) Printer
Market for Q4 2005 with a sustained market share
of 8% as per the latest Gartner report on the
APAC printer market. The company also announced
that it leads the Indian Dot Matrix Printer
market with a market share of over 43%.
According to S. Narendran, head - marketing, TVS
Electronics, "We have been consistently growing
in terms of our market share in DMPs. According
to Gartner reports TVSE has been growing 22% by
value and 37% by volume year-on-year making it
the fastest growing DMP company in India." He
added that the company would aim to continue and
sustain this growth in the near future as well.
Elaborating on the increase in demand for DMPs
in India, Narendran says, "The market for DMP in
India is continuously growing and this growth
has been further fuelled by the factors like the
VAT introduction for retailers which has forced
them to automate themselves in order to keep
track of their sales." Besides, he feels that
government investment in various e-governance
projects is also one of the encouraging factors,
which has created a demand for DMPs.
According to the Gartner report on the
Asia/Pacific printer market, which is the only
region growing at more than 20% in dot matrix
printer (DMP) in the world; India ranks third,
after China and Thailand, with a year-on-year
growth of 17% in the SDM Printer Market Q4 2005.
Shipments of SDM printers in Asia / Pacific grew
28% reaching 635,000 units in the fourth quarter
of 2005.
The company is aiming at verticals like
government, SMEs and BFSIs as well as 'invest
and innovate' and set new standards in order to
achieve its target of being the number one
company in APAC for DMPs. The company claimed
that according to current estimates it ranks
No.3 in the world behind Epson and OKI. |
